Add a memories feature to your app
in days, not quarters.
Users love rediscovering their own photos and videos. Google Photos, Apple Photos, Snapchat, and Facebook all made memories a reason to open the app. FyreMemories gives any photo or video app the same feature: we process the media your users already upload and deliver personal memories back through a native SDK.
What is a memories feature?
A memories feature automatically resurfaces a user’s past photos and videos as short, shareable recaps: a trip, a birthday, a season, or a moment from a year ago. It turns a static gallery into something users come back to.
Building one means solving two problems. On the backend you need to analyze media, group it into meaningful moments, and generate memories for each user. On the client you need a polished, fast viewer. FyreMemories covers both.
How FyreMemories generates memories
- 1
A user uploads a photo or video
Your existing upload flow stays the same. Files land in your storage bucket as they do today.
- 2
The processor runs in your cloud
An upload event triggers the FyreMemories processor inside your environment. It reads the file with read-only access and produces a summary.
- 3
Memories are built per user
Only the summary leaves your infrastructure. The memories engine builds memories for each user and serves them through the Memories API.
- 4
Your app shows them
The SDK reads memories for the signed-in user and renders them as story rings and a full-screen feed.
Privacy by design
Your original photos and videos never leave your infrastructure. The processor needs read-only access to your storage bucket, and on the device each user ID gets isolated in-memory state and cache, so switching accounts on a shared device does not leak one user’s memories to another. Analytics collection can be gated on user consent for GDPR and CCPA.
Where a memories feature fits
Any app where users upload personal media can benefit: photo sharing, cloud storage and gallery apps, social and community apps, travel, family and parenting, fitness, and event apps. See the use case pages for specific patterns.
Frequently asked questions
Can I build something like Google Photos Memories in my own app?
Yes. FyreMemories provides the memory generation backend and the in-app viewer, so you can offer a memories experience without building the media analysis and video playback stack yourself.
Do my users’ photos leave my servers?
No. The FyreMemories processor runs inside your cloud with read-only access to your storage bucket and sends only a summary onward.
What does a user see?
A row of story rings with their latest memories and a full-screen, swipeable feed where they can watch, like, save, share, and download.
How long does integration take?
Most teams set up the backend in an afternoon and have the Android carousel running the same day.
